What is the Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign?
When faced with people experiencing homelessness and/or asking for money, we feel concerned, and may want to give whatever we have on hand, but aren’t sure if this is the best way to help.
MAGC offers an alternative way to support local people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Through 1:1 support with the Moseley Neighbourhood Outreach Worker, and personalised budgets and grants, we work with people to put some control back in their own hands and support the steps they identify to move forwards.
Everyone is individual, but examples of the types of support MAGC can offer include:
– Accessing a copy of a birth certificate to enable someone to enter accommodation
– Support with rent arrears to enable someone to access accommodation
– Furniture to settle into new accommodation and make it a home
– A bus pass to enable a person to travel between appointments and support services
