How does a charity that has been around for a while remind local people that it is still going and strong and try to drum up new volunteers to take it forward? Well the Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign are doing this by joining one of Moseley’s most popular community events, they are taking up residence at the Moseley Farmer’s Market for the next six months! MAGC are also very pleased to be The Dark Horse’s charity of the year!
Thanks to a recent grant from East Birmingham Local community Safety Partnership, MAGC have been able to produce new publicity materials, hold meetings with key partners and rent a Farmers Market Stall to promote the campaign and give local people a chance to ask questions and find out more about this local group. This grant would not have been possible without the support of Accord’s Neighbourhood Innovator.
We are looking to increase the numbers of volunteers currently working with MAGC and we are particularly looking for volunteers with any of the following experience or skills:
- Journalism (to write articles for our website)
- Delivering leaflets to shops and residential areas
- Helping with our community market stall (last Saturday of the month)
- Collecting and counting donations
- Participating in the project steering group meetings
- Fund raising
We are also looking for someone with the experience and time to take us through the process of becoming a constituted charity so that we can apply for funding in the future.
If you wish to join our volunteers please email [email protected] for more information or come and see us on the stall!
